Lead end-to-end product design for SASOM’s marketplace experience, driving user-centered solutions across buyer and seller journeys.
About the Role
As a Senior Product Designer (Marketplace), you will own the end-to-end user experience of SASOM’s marketplace across mobile and web. You will be responsible for designing intuitive, scalable, and high-performing experiences that support buyers, sellers, live commerce, and content-driven discovery.
You will work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Data, and cross-functional squads to translate business goals into impactful user experiences. From research and concept to high-fidelity design and production validation, you will drive design quality and consistency across the platform.
Responsibilities
• Own the architecture, performance, and reliability of the SASOM React Native application
• Drive adoption of React Native New Architecture, Expo, and modern mobile best practices
• Define coding standards, reusable patterns, and lead technical design decisions across the mobile stack
• Build and ship core features including navigation, deep linking, state management, analytics, push notifications, and scalable UI components
• Collaborate closely with Buyer, Seller, Live/Video, Backend, and Platform teams to deliver high-quality features on time
• Represent the Mobile Chapter in squad cycles (Shape Up) and ensure engineering quality across squads
• Mentor mid- and junior-level engineers, and support hiring, interviews, and career leveling
• Own code reviews, CI/CD health, app stability, crash analytics, and overall production readiness
• Take full accountability from technical design through production release and resolve critical issues with urgency
Requirements
• Experienced React Native engineer with strong technical leadership and ownership mindset
• Deeply committed to code quality, performance optimization, and delivering excellent user experience
• Fast learner, detail-oriented, and up-to-date with modern mobile technologies and best practices
• Able to read English fluently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and mentoring capabilities
• Age 25+ (open to all genders)
