Software Engineer

We are looking for a Backend Engineer with 2+ years of experience building scalable production systems. You should be proficient in Node.js/TypeScript or Python, experienced with AWS cloud services, and comfortable designing secure, high-performance RESTful APIs. A strong understanding of both SQL and NoSQL databases, serverless architecture, and clean software design principles is essential. In this role, you will contribute to architecture decisions, maintain code quality through testing and CI/CD practices, and troubleshoot complex production issues. Experience in e-commerce or marketplace platforms is a plus, especially in environments that require high reliability and performance.

• • Design and build scalable, reliable backend services to support SASOM’s marketplace platform
• • Develop and maintain secure APIs for web and mobile applications
• • Work with AWS services (Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, and related infrastructure) to ensure performance and scalability
• • Integrate payment gateways and third-party services with strong attention to security and reliability
• • Write automated tests and maintain high code quality standards
• • Participate in architecture decisions and technical planning to support long-term scalability
• • Debug production issues, monitor system health, and continuously optimize performance
• • Collaborate closely with frontend engineers and product teams to deliver features efficiently
• • Document systems, APIs, and workflows while sharing knowledge across the team
• • Contribute to infrastructure improvements and DevOps best practices

• • 2+ years of backend development experience in building scalable production systems
• • Proficient in Node.js/TypeScript or Python
• • Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
• • Strong understanding of databases, both SQL and NoSQL
• • Familiarity with serverless architecture and event-driven systems
• • Solid experience in RESTful API design and implementation
• • Knowledge of software design patterns and clean architecture principles
• • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to debug complex issues
• • Experience using Git and CI/CD pipelines
• • E-commerce or marketplace platform experience is a plus
